Jeff Myers
3 Year Trustee - Army

Jeff served in the Unites States Army with 3 years on active duty, followed by 4 years in the United States Army Reserves. His highest grade attained was E4.

 He is a veteran of the Korean Defense Mission along the DMZ.

Jeffs service and assignments are as follows:

1981 – 82: After Basic he was selected for recruiter aid to serve 80 days before PCS to Korea to serve with E co, 2nd Eng, 2nd ID Combat Engineer, as a (12c) Bridge Crewman. He was stationed in Korea along the DMZ and the mission was to control river access on the Imjin River in support of forces in JSA and DMZ.

1982- 83: Ft. Benning Ga – 72nd Eng, 197 Inf Bd.  Combat Engineer Crewman with the mission of readiness training Chattahoochee River.

1983-84: Selected for Staff Duty: Destin Army Recreation Area. Destin Fl. In this role, we maintained, upgraded, and serviced the recreation properties. This is a military destination for active duty and retired service members to vacation at.

1990 – 94: USAR HHC, 3 BN 3rd ID. Multichannel radio operator (31m). Went back in the wake of Desert Strom. Changed MSO to better align with career path in communications. 

Professional Career (Retired):

1993 – 2023: Consulting Engineer in Broadband Access

Over his 30-year career he has worked for:

MCI Communications (Long Distance) as a Network Engineer / Field Service Engineer building the infrastructure for the sunrise of the internet and supporting FAA communication for southern MN.

Motorola as a Field Service / Sales engineer - Broadband access (Copper/Fiber). In this position he installed, tested and activated Motorola’s Broadband access technologies. This would include video over copper, and the latest in fiber optic technology.  This position took him all over the US and Asia.  He would come out of retirement to do this again.

CCI Systems as a Consulting Engineer - Broadband Access HFC/xPON. In the role of consulting engineer, he supported 4 account managers covering 26 states (Everything east of the Mississippi).  This would cover HFC (Hybrid Fiber- Coaxial cable) and Fiber to the Home (FTTH/FTTP).
