Doug Atherholt

Doug began his Air Force career on May 7, 1986, at Lackland AFB San Antonio, TX for Basic Training.  He graduated basic training in July 1986 and was transferred to Goodfellow AFB San Angelo, TX to begin his technical training as a Electronic Signal Intelligence Exploitation Specialist. 

After graduating in November of 1986 Doug was transferred to the 544th Intelligence Analysis Squadron Strategic Air Command at Offutt AFB Bellevue, NE as a Defensive Missile Technical Trainer from November 1986 to August 1993.  From there Doug transferred to the 20th Intelligence Squadron as a section Training Manager from August 1993 to March 1994. 

Doug then PCS’d to the 303rdIntelligence Squadron in March 1994. Doug worked as an Electronic Systems Technician/Trainer for the U2 Senior Ruby program.  This is where Doug was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant (SSgt). In March of 1995, Doug finished his one-year remote tour and was transferred to the 90th Intelligence Squadron Lackland AFB, TX as a Electronic Systems Supervisor for the RC-135 reconnaissance program.  Doug also briefed high ranking officers on the ELINT threat around the world. 

In September of 2001, Doug was transferred again to the 97th Intelligence Squadron Offutt AFB, NE and became the NCOIC, Automatic ELINT Emitter Location Systems (AEELS) section where he supervised 8 other airman.  During his time at the 97th IS he became the sections Training Manager and managed all airman and officer training for the section.  Doug did this from October 2002 until his retirement in May 2006.  Doug reached the rank of Technical Sergeant (TSgt) in 2003 until his retirement.
